DIY Liquid Fabric Softener
This video shows you how to make an easy DIY liquid fabric softener in just a few minutes.
It also uses only a few ingredients. Using this your clothes will come out of the washer soft and you won’t be paying tons of money for those commercial fabric softeners.
When you use this with my DIY liquid laundry detergent your clothes will come out clean and soft for pennies per load.
I bet you didn’t know that white distilled vinegar could replace those expensive fabric softeners you currently use.
When you use this DIY liquid fabric softener along with my DIY liquid laundry detergent you actually get two softening agents working in your wash.
The baking soda in the detergent is a natural fabric softener in its own right. Then when you add vinegar to the rinse cycle you get a one-two punch of softening.
Don’t worry, your clothes will not come out of the wash smelling like vinegar either. They simply come out clean and fresh.
Another thing you don’t have to worry about is mixing the baking soda and vinegar and canceling each other out. Remember a few weeks ago I posted a video and article that explains why you should never use vinegar and baking soda together for cleaning. If you didn’t read it you should go read it now.
Contrary to what people on the internet are telling you, you don’t get a scrubbing bubble cleaning solution when you mix baking soda and vinegar. You get a release of CO2 gas and are left with water and a weak salt solution. Guess those people didn’t pay attention in high school chemistry class.
At any rate, since the baking soda is in the wash cycle and the vinegar doesn’t come into the wash until the rinse cycle they are never added together so there is no danger of them canceling each other out.
So try out this easy DIY liquid fabric softener and let me know what you think. I use the DIY detergent and fabric softener on all my clothes in my HE washer. My clothes come out clean and fresh and softer than when I used commercial softeners.
Yes, I do actually try all these things out before I write about them. So make some of this fabric softener up and try it. Let me know what you think in the comments section.
