DIY Scouring Paste
This video shows you how to make a really easy and simple DIY scouring paste to use on stovetops, counters and all around the kitchen.
I show you how I used it to remove baked on greasy rings around the burners on my flat stove top.
Simple 3 Ingredient Recipe
- 1 Cup Baking Soda
- 2 Tbsp Dawn Dishwashing Liquid (or Dr. Bronner’s Sals Soap)
- Hot water
Heat water in the microwave until hot. Add baking soda and dishwashing liquid in a bowl. Add water slowly until you achieve a paste-like consistency. Spoon onto the area you need to clean and scrub.
This DIY scouring paste uses baking soda as a mild scouring agent. The Dawn dishwashing liquid is used to break down grease so it can be removed.
Useful for many greasy jobs around the kitchen that need a little more scrubbing than you can do with the DIY Degreaser Spray.
Using these two ingredients with water will save you a ton of money over buying scrubbing paste from the store. This is just as effective with the added benefit of being made from totally biodegradable ingredients.
Not only will you save money but you will be doing your part to help the environment and live in a more environmentally friendly way.
Give this a try in your home and let me know how it works for you in the comments section. I’d love to hear how you use it, or even if you have an improvement on the original recipe.
