By using baking soda to scour your cutting board and spraying hydrogen peroxide on the board over the baking soda you are not only cleaning it but disinfecting it as well.
Both of these substances are usually found in your home and are safe and natural.
Baking soda is a natural scrubbing compound that is alkaline so it can also help to kill germs.
Hydrogen peroxide is a wonderful disinfecting agent. It is used to disinfect wounds and it kills germs on contact.
Lemon essential oil is also a disinfectant and it leaves the board smelling clean and fresh.
Simply sprinkle baking soda liberally on your cutting board. Add 4-5 drops of lemon essential oil and then spray hydrogen peroxide over the baking soda.
Let this set for 30 seconds to a minute, then scrub the cutting board using a microfiber cloth. Then just rinse in cold water and you are good to go.
